Nursery - Maternity Leave Position

We have a maternity leave position opening up in our nursery in May. The position is expected to start on the 12th of May and go for 9 - 12 months, most likely 12 months. You’ll be working in a small nursery with 8 children and 1 other teacher. We are happy for new or experienced teachers to apply for this position. We do require you are a registered teacher as we run on 100% qualified teachers. You will be responsible for approximately 5 children’s profile books and will be given 2.5 hours of non contact time a week.

The centre is open 7:30 - 5:30, but the expected shifts will be 9:00 - 5:30 Monday - Friday, with a staff meeting every second Tuesday which finishes between 6:00 and 7:00 usually.

Little Explorers has a lot to offer. We are a small centre with 32 children a day, 24 in the preschool and 8 in the nursery. We are located in Burwood on Vivian St and a have large exciting outdoor play areas for the children, along with a vegetable garden, orchard and chickens. These large outdoor areas are fantastic for allowing children the space to learn and discover the world through play. The extra space also allows children to find quiet spots when needed resulting in happier children and less behaviour management needed by teachers.

We are always happy to hear from anyone wanting to do relieving for us.

We are open from 7.30am–5.30pm and relieving may require opening (7:30 - 4) and closing (9 - 5:30) on different days.
